With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Debra C Moseley of Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 7, 2022 at the age of 47. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl O. Moseley and Norma B. Moseley; her grandparents, Inez Lashley and Arthur Cumberbatch; and her aunt June Lashley.

She is survived by: her husband Anthony Rice; her sisters, Carol J. Moseley, Viviette Forde-Manning (Whitfield), Gem Forde and Tawanda Gay; her aunts and uncles, Compton Jones (Marjorie), Yvonne DeSouza, Rita Clark, Desiree Henry, Hulbert Jones (Cynthia), Keith Lashley, Kenneth Lashley, Kenrick Lashley (Florazel), Olive Hinds and Donna Trotman (Leland); her mother-in-law Barbara Rice; and her siblings-in-law, John Moore, Ryan Rice and Lisa Dubose. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

“I was Debra's foster mom until she was adopted by Carl and Norma Moseley at the age of 5 months. Our family and the Moseleys remained friends for many years - I am devastated to learn of Debra's death. I, along with my family loved Debra SO SO much and wanted to adopt her ourselves, but at the time social workers did not approve of white couples adopting black babies. Our hearts were broken when she left, but thanks to the grace of God, He found her a wonderful family.”
