He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrios Kanakis and Christina Kanakis (Paraskevopoulos); and his niece Eugenia Yphantes. He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Peter Poulos (Lucy), Christina Lambrenos (Constantine), Louiza Michalopoulou and Kristina Michalopoulou.
A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England (514 Parker St, Boston, MA 02120). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery (355 Walk Hill St, Boston, MA 02131).
