He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stevens and Catherine Stevens (Jackman); and his brother George Stevens. He is survived by: his children, Gail M. Dean (Robert) of North Smithfield, RI, Donna M. Hagan (late Paul) of Harrisville, RI, James J. Stevens of Blackstone, MA and Thomas A. Stevens (Denise) of Cumberland, RI.; his grandchildren, David Dean, Christopher Dean (Brianna), Lisa Dean, Stephanie Arpin (Brad), Kimberly Hagan, Jon Rotatori and Tyler Stevens; his great grandchildren, Kyle Dean, Dylan Dean, Stella Dean, Samuel Dean, Cole Arpin, Will Arpin and Leon Rotatori; and his sister Mary McKitchen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
