With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy H. Wood in Billerica, Massachusetts, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on November 12, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Dorothy's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Dorothy has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her husband Stewart Wood; and her parents, Albert Helmsteadt and Mary Helmsteadt (Fitzgerald). She is survived by: her children, Marylou Wood of Billerica, Charles Wood (Laura) of Tyngsborough, Gary Wood (Sharon) of Tewksbury, James Wood (Linda) of Greer, SC and Paul Wood (Christine) of Chelmsford. She is also survived by loving 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. Theresa Church (466 Boston Rd, Billerica, MA 01821). A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fox Hill Cemetery (130 Andover Rd, Billerica, MA 01821).
