He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathleen R. Shay, (Brennan) and John L. Shay, Sr.; and his brother John Shay. He is survived by: his wife Diane Malone Shay of Billerica; his sons, Dennis Patrick Shay (Victor Gonzalez) of Medford and Andrew Joseph Shay (Stephanie) of Stormville, NY.; and his siblings, James Shay, Robert Shay, Rosemary Beckford, Daniel Shay, David Shay, Thomas Shay, Gerald Shay, Kathleen Shay and Richard Shay.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, May 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (9 Herbert St, Melrose, MA 02176).
