With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William A. Gates in Beverly, Massachusetts, born in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 1, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gates and Leona Gates (Fontaine); his son Robert John Gates; and his siblings, John Gates and Sandra McElhinney.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gates (Atherton); his children, William L. Gates of Beverly and Kelly Constantino (James Jr.) of Beverly; and his grandson James Constantino III.

Contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Bobby Gates Memorial Scholarship at Beverly High School.
