He was predeceased by: his mother Edith Burns (Craig); and his former wife Patricia Burns. He is survived by: his father John T. Burns; his wife Sandra L. Burns (Tarr); his daughters, Maryn McNamara (Tom) of Springfield, MA and Emily Burns of Manchester, NH; his stepsons, Christopher Belkas of Salem and Nicholas Belkas (Julia) of Methuen, MA.; his grandchildren, Avery and John McNamara; his siblings, Thomas Burns (Lynne) of Greenwich, RI, Richard Burns (Janel) of Barnstead, NH and Judith Burns of Eddystone, PA; his siblings-in-law, Peter and Kim Barry of Rowley, MA; and his parents-in-law, Russell and Patricia Tarr of Beverly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of John Burns to the Termeer Center for Pancreatic Cancer/Andreas Varkaris.
