He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Ann (Wilber); and his mother Cora Elizabeth Clark of Beverly, MA.. He is survived by: his children, Amy McCay (Jarrod) of Beverly, Tracey Armstrong (Glen Johnstone) of Beverly and David E. Armstrong (Michelle); his grandchildren, Abigail Grace Johnstone, Andrew Hale Johnstone, Cameron David Armstrong, Griffin Edward McCay, William August Johnstone, Dylan Jarrod McCay, Callan Michael McCay and Ruby Elizabeth McCay; his sister-in-law Nancy E. Vinton (Wayne) of Medway; his nephews, Craig Vinton (Sasha) and Kevin Vinton; and his friend Danny Oliveira (Eva).

Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the O'Donnell Cremations-Funerals (167 Maple St, Danvers, MA 01923). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the North Beverly Cemetery (685 Cabot St, Beverly, MA 01915). A committal service was held on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Beverly (221 Cabot St, Beverly, MA 01915).
