David B. Wheeler Obituary
David B. Wheeler, 56, of Beverly, husband of Lisa A. (Houston) Wheeler, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. David was born in Stoneham, MA on March 8, 1967, and was the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Wooster) Wheeler.
David graduated from Atlantic Union College in 1989 and earned his Master's Degree in Chemistry from Tufts University in 1991. He was an avid outdoorsman. From a young age, he was an active Pathfinder and continued his love of adventure through the Boy Scout Organization. He also loved spending time with his family, taking trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, camping, hiking, golfing, geocaching, orienteering, and working on many indoor and outdoor home projects. David was the "rock" of his family and friends.
David put the needs of others before himself and gave his time freely to all. He was a teacher and mentor to his children as well as his nephews and numerous family members. David loved a good conversation and used his abundant knowledge to always passionately debate any topic with a twinkle in his eye. His presence lit up the room!
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 32 years, Lisa of Beverly, MA; his children Ethan D. Wheeler and Erin Bishop of Tewksbury, MA; Sara J. Wheeler of Worcester, MA; his siblings, Karen E. Kelly and her husband Richard from Castle Rock, CO; Donald W. Wheeler and his wife, Karen (Smart) Wheeler of Orange, MA; Daniel J. Wheeler of Leominster, MA; Bonnie M. Garrity and her two children, Evan and Jordan Garrity of Leominster, MA; as well as his in-laws, Rory and Jean Anscombe of Gloucester, MA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. There are no services and his burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellspring House, 302 Essex Ave., Gloucester, MA 01930 (http://www.wellspringhouse.org). All donations will benefit the family shelter.
