He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Alvarez and Rigoberto Alvarez; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Rachel Wright; and his brother-in-law James Shaker.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Alvarez; his children, Jose Alvarez, Cody Alvarez, Christy Alvarez, Roxanna Alvarez and Rosie Carmichael; and his parents-in-law, Leon Alvarez (Lynn) of Venice, FL., Lillian Shaker of North Adams, MA, Marty Alvarez (Martela) of North Adams, MA, Osmin Alvarez (Monica) of Williamstown, MA and Anna Cloutier (David). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
