He was predeceased by: his brothers, Robert W., Kenneth E. and David P. Jones; and his sister-in-law Eileen White. He is survived by: his wife Mary T. Jones (Sheehan); his son David E. Jones (Kathryn) of Belmont; his grandchildren, Seamus E. and Kellen D. Jones; and his sister Sarah Frissore of Lexington.

“I want to send my deepest condolences to the Jones Family for the loss of Edward. When i think of the town of Belmont i think Ed Jones he was a great person and so friendly to everyone. Mr. Ed Jones was on the Belmont Fire Department and was at my brothers soccer game when TJ had some heart issues. Ed without hesitation he brought TJ to Mount Auburn Hospital and even called my mother on route to tell het the situation. I will miss him i love him so much for being himself. Brian Killilea”

“Mary, David & family: I was very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Sally told me how sick Eddie has been but he continued to be the good and loving grandfather to his grandsons attending their games which was not easy I'm sure. I bet he was proud of them. He was a good guy and will be missed. Mary, I planned on sending flowers but saw your request and will adhere to it and send a donation to the charities mentioned. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. So sorry for your loss.”
