She is survived by: her parent Marjorie Cavaca (Chase); her children, Thomas J. Pontes (Jane) of Bellingham, MA, Melissa J. Surprenant (John) of Dudley, MA, Kathryn, Matthew, Elizabeth Pontes of Bellingham, MA and Peyton Surprenant of Dudley, MA; and her sisters, Sally Arruda of Little Compton and Mary Lou Souza of Tiverton.

Mrs. Pontes was certified in geriatrics with a specialty in Alzheimers disease and dementia.
