With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ronald Akins of Belchertown, Massachusetts, born in Statesboro, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Akins and Beatrice Akins (Nessmith); his wife Patricia A. Akins (Fogarty); his siblings, Leffler Akins, Leo Akins, Lavearn Akins, Benjamin Akins, Heyward Akins, Dedrick Akins, Christine Birley (Akins) and Jonnie Wynn (Akins); his grandson David Trude Jr. (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Danielle Borate and Kaitlyn Trude.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie M. Bovat (James), Dana L. Brady (Robert), Lisa A. Ducharme of Belchertown and Kim S. Akins of Belchertown; and his sisters, Sally Deal of Statesboro, GA, Barbara McNure (Babs) of Metter, GA and Beatrice Bennett (Bobbi) of Huston, TX. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
