He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Shaw and Matilda Shaw (Dias); and his siblings, William Shaw, Donald Shaw, Jr., Joseph O'Neil, James Shaw (Christine) of Brimfield, Robert Shaw of Belchertown, Susan Shaw, Sandra Dobson (Dan), Patricia McMenamin (Charles) of Springfield and Peg West (Kenneth) of Chicopee. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
