He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Harstad and Agnes Vera Harstad (Hogg); his wife Shirley Harstad (Plante); his siblings, Alexander and Phyllis Harstad (Ewing); and his stepsons, Wayne C. Mitchell and Roy J. Allen.
He is survived by: his sister Margie Harstad (Jerry) of Maplewood, MN; his stepchildren, Deborah Banas of Easthampton, MA, Thomas Mitchell (Therese Leab) of Belchertown, MA, Sandra Coty (Robert Shaw) of Belchertown, MA, Raymond Mitchell (Leighton Chighizola) of Violet, LA, Sharon Allen of Poulsbo, WA and David Allen (Nancy) of Belchertown, MA; and his grandchildren, Andrew Coty (Linda) of Chicopee, MA, Becky McAlinden (Declan) of Ballymartin, IE, Caitlin Mitchell, Timothy Sharrow of Springfield, MA, Jarrod Allen of Springfield, MA, Marissa Allen and RJ Allen. He is also survived by many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
