Though Martha Crane may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Martha Crane touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward S. Gruson; her son Matthew Gruson; and also, William Crane and Lois Wells. She is survived by: her grandson Alex Gruson; her great grandchild Fjorin; her grandson Brendan Galvin; her great grandchildren, Sophie and Sydney; and her son-in-law Pat.
A reception will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Parish (75 Great Rd, Bedford, MA 01730).
A modernist at heart, she celebrated the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and took inspiration from his balance of structure and form, always using the natural surroundings as the starting and ending points A few of her favorite projects can still be enjoyed today: the Quadrangle at the Marine Biological Laboratory and the Waterfront Park stand as living reminders of Martha's contributions to village life in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
