It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ida May Papalia of Bedford, Massachusetts, born in Waltham, Massachusetts, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Gilbert and Amy Gilbert (Ackerman); and her sister Dorothy Marshall. She is survived by: her husband Richard F. Papalia; her children, Anne Marie Papalia of Northbridge, MA, Rick Papalia (Senade) of Hollis, NH, Tom Papalia (Susan) of Framingham, MA, Jim Papalia (Martha) of Acton, MA and Mary Jean Davis (Renard) of Lunenburg, MA.; her grandchildren, Breanna Dolciotto (John), Shannon, Dino, Anna, Dominic Papalia, Jackie, Joey and Ryan Davis; and her great grandchild Maeve Dolciotto. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, MA 01730.

“Mrs. Papalia grew up with our Mother in Waltham. She was a huge blessing to the entire town of Bedford not just the entire St. Michael’s community. She did an amazing job teaching me and countless children at CCD and made the best snickerdoodles ever. The Papalia parents taught great values and made Bedford a great place to grow up.
