He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leonard R. Mitko and Dolores Mitko (King) of Barre; his wife Margaret Mitko (Tuttle); his children, Melissa Scott (James Scott) of Barre and John Mitko (Heather) of Oakham; his daughter-in-law Patti Mitko (Best Nurse Ever); his siblings, Joseph M. Mitko (Penny) of Barre, Matthew P. Mitko (Amy) of Carver and Brenda Landry (James Landry) of Connecticut; his grandson Travis Scott of Barre; his nephew Joseph Mitko Jr. of Ware; his niece Kristen Papanos (Ryan Papanos); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jason and Joey of Connecticut; his niece Ashley Halstead (Joseph Halstead); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jayden, Destiny and Olivia of Bourne; and his brother Leonard Mitko Jr. (Yvonne Mitko).
