Hubert Cluett Jr. Obituary

Hubert Cluett Jr., 84, of Barnstable, MA formerly of Gloucester, MA, husband of the late Virginia M. "Ginger" (Borge) Cluett, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA.

He was born in Gloucester on November 11, 1937, son of the late Capt. Hubert Cluett and Beulah D. (Mitchell) Cluett. He attended Gloucester Schools and had many friends and family in the community.

In his earlier years, he worked for Faulk Brothers and Feldman Construction Company before starting his carpentry business, Hubert Cluett Carpenters, and Builders, where he worked until he retired and moved to Cape Cod in 2018. He was an avid gardener and especially loved growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering around the house.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin Marchessault and her husband Steve of Barnstable; grandchildren, Samantha Ketchopulos of Cape Cod and Ginger Cluett of Haverhill; great-grandchildren, Logan and Rachel Ketchopulos, Shawn Skinner, Jason Morin and Jayden Cluett; sister, Geraldine Mackey Nichols and her husband Lionel of Florida; sisters-in-law, Faye Jackson and Susan Cluett both of Gloucester; brothers-in-law, Alvin Borge and John "Bob" Rudolph both of Gloucester; daughter-in-law, Judi (DeJager) Cluett of Maine; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his son, Hubert "Chucky" Cluett III; sister Lorraine B. Rudolph; brother, Ronald D. Cluett; brother-in-law, Neil Jackson and nephew, Robert D. Cluett.

His. Graveside Service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be no visiting hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930 or to a charity of one's choice.
