He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustaf Hulteen of Sweden and Lilly Spongburg of Sweden; his wife Lilly Hulteen (Lillian); and his sons, Erik Anders Hulteen and Neil Hulteen.

He is survived by: his son Eric Hulteen; his granddaughters, Brooke and Hilary; his great grandchildren, Jem and Memphis; his son Kurt Hulteen (Linda Hulteen); his grandchildren, Lindsay Hulteen and Russell Hulteen (Laura Hulteen); and his great grandchildren, Boden and Neil.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation in Carlton's name.
