He was predeceased by: his son Andrew J. Stencel; and his parents, Chester S. Stencel, Sr. and Rita C. Stencel (Feeley). He is survived by: his wife Roberta I. Stencel (Chicoine); his children, Catherine Ann Cahill (Dan) of Auburn and Matthew C. Stencel (Kimberly) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Alex, Sam, Jenna, Maeve and Quinn; his siblings, Rita "Rikay" Lundgren (Robert) of Charlton, James E. "Jay" Stencel (Catherine Polis) of Shrewsbury and John W. Stencel (Eileen) of Auburn; and his close friend Anatol "Mik" Mikolajczak of Webster. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home (91 Central St, Auburn, MA 01501). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (189 Oxford St N, Auburn, MA 01501). A burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at the Hillside Cemetery (65 Central St, Auburn, MA 01501).
His family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Food for the Poor (https://www.stjohnsfoodforthepoor.org), and/or to Auburn Youth & Family Services (https://unipaygold.unibank.com).
