He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley L. Clemons (Blackman); and his parents, Albert Russell Clemons and Esther Ruth (Bingham). He is survived by: his brother Edward Clemons; his nephews, Mark Clemons and David Clemons; his niece Amy D'Avia; his great-nephew Andrew; his great-nieces, Vanessa, Heather, Allison and Jessica; his caregiver James Wright; and also, Susan Remkiewicz, David D'Avia and Tara Clemons.
