He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Bernier and Mae Bernier (Buckly); his sisters, Naomi Ferris, Shirley Plouffe, Elizabeth Cariglia and Linda Rich; his brother-in-law Thomas O'Brien of Tamarac; and his father-in-law Leopold Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Priscilla Bernier (Jean) of Athol; his children, Sherry Adams (John Peeler) of Athol, Richard Bernier of Orange and Christina Bernier; his grandchildren, Ashley Adams of Athol and Victoria Adams of Athol; his brother Joseph Bernier of North Carolina; and his siblings-in-law, Linda O'Brien of Tamarac, Florida, Brian Rich of Templeton and Roland Jean (Rita) of Wendell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
