She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick O'Connell and Teresa O'Connell (Quill); and her son Jamie Matarese. She is survived by: her husband Phillip Leger of Athol; her stepsons, Matthew Leger (Grace) of Fitchburg and Jeffrey Leger (Kim) of Washington; her grandchildren, Travis, Valerie, Tyler, Lauren and Jacob; her sister Patricia Ackles (Chip) of Westminster; and her nephews, Patrick Ackles (Nicole), Ryan Ackles and Sean Ackles (Steph). She is also survived by four brothers.
