It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Johansen of Assonet, Massachusetts, born in Brockton, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 17, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Johansen and Edith Johansen (Lupien); his brother Paul Johansen of Rockland; and his sons-in-law, Keith DeCosta and Frank Murray.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Johansen (Croteau); his children, Thelma DeCosta of Taunton, Donna Murray of Lakeville and Charles "Chip" Johansen (Christine) of Assonet; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jennie), Theresa (Teri), James (Jimmy) and Alexandra (Lex); his great grandchildren, Kaycee, Tyllah, Hayleigh, Sydney and Amelia; and his siblings, James Johansen of New Mexico and Barbara Galusha of Washington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Facial coverings and Social Distancing are required inside the funeral home at all times.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Johansen's memory may be made to an animal shelter of one's choice.
