He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick MacArthur and Molly MacArthur (Nagle); his wife Janice MacArthur (Gillespie); his siblings, Virginia M. Hassam (Gene) and Fred W. MacArthur, Jr.; his goddaughter Paula Hassam; his nieces, Laurie Hassam and Pamela Betson; and his nephew Tony Gillespie.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lauren MacArthur of Milford and Lynne Atkinson (Michael) of Westborough; his grandchildren, Maegan Montenegro, Nicole and Jennifer Atkinson; his siblings-in-law, Lila MacArthur of Oviedo, FL, Susan Doyle (John) of West Roxbury and Richard W. Gillespie, Jr. of Humarock; his friends, Andrew and Jane Abu of Southboro; his nieces, Jennifer, Haleigh Kirwan, Leila MacArthur, Freda Lee and Kerri Doyle; and his nephew John P. Doyle.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Matarese Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. (325 Main St, Ashland, MA 01721). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Cecilia's Church (54 Esty St, Ashland, MA 01721). A burial will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at the Wildwood Cemetery (160 Chestnut St, Ashland, MA 01721).
