He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Shapiro and Annie Shapiro (Stone); his wife Judith Shapiro (Dunn); his son Shalom Shapiro; and his sister Marilyn Fox.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Ringel (Maurice) of Needham, Ron Escobar Shapiro (German Alexi Escobar) of Medford, Laurie Shapiro of Jamaica Plain and Evan Shapiro of Ashland; his granddaughter Emily Ringel; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Porr and Myra Dunn.
