He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard A. Chellar and Mary Mildred; and his siblings, William (UK), Edwin, Clarence (Sri Lanka), Rita Andrews (UK), Edward, Peter (UK), Matthew and Bernard (UK).
He is survived by: his wife Bawani Chellar; and his sisters, Marcella Ponniah (CA) and Shirley De Souza (UK). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
