She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hughes and Ruby Hughes (Leard); and her grandson Anthony "Tony" Mazzapica of Worcester. She is survived by: her children, JoAnne (Bernard McDonald) of Sharon, Stephen J. Mazzapica of Ashland and Joseph R. Mazzapica of Hubbardston; her grandchildren, Christopher (Marissa McDonald) of New York, Jennifer McDonald of Boston and Michael Mazzapica of Boston; her great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Ryan McDonald; and her siblings, Dorothy Burnham of Magnolia and Thomas (Josephine Hughes) of Florida.
Out of love and concern for others due to COVID-19, the services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children or The Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
