He was predeceased by: his siblings, Burton Gold and Susan Knapp (Gold). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Judith Ames Gold (Bobbi); his children, Daniel Allen Gold and Karen Beth Gold; and his grandchildren, David Gold, Jacob Gold, Jonathan Gold and Ari Ushomirsky.
Despite having Alzheimer's disease, he remained physically active and enjoyed being outdoors and walking until just a few weeks before his death.
