David Millar wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry for your loss, Rosemary. Fred was a dear man. He was the best man in my wedding. I have many wonderful memories of him. We spent untold hours in the Undergraduate Physics Colloquium Room at MIT working on Junior Lab in 1977 - 1978. Summer 1978 we drove to Big Bend National Park. We camped and swam across the Rio Grande to Mexico to hike up a canyon. And Fred was a brilliant man. He completed two very difficult degrees in four years: BS in Physics and EE. I miss him terribly.”
