He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. Culhane and Rita (Sartori); and his former wife Barbara Culhane (Ede). He is survived by: his sons, Derek Culhane (Amanda) of Stoughton and Daniel Culhane (Melanie) of Stoughton; his grandchildren, Ava, Daniel and Victoria; his sisters, Linda Bonaccorso of Arlington and Karen William of Arlington; and his niece Amanda Witham.
