He was predeceased by: his parents, John Prochniak and Leona Prochniak (Ogreni); his children, Stephen J. Prochniak and Louise Prochniak; and his brothers, Daniel and Michael Prochniak.

He is survived by: his wife Constance Prochniak (Coulis); his daughters, Susan Helms (Ted) of Darien, CT and Darlene Bohm (Robert) of Shelton, CT; his grandchildren, Teddy, Victoria, Faith Helms, Zach Bohm, Stephen Charles and Alex Prochniak; and his sisters-in-law, Joann Prochniak and Karen Coulis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
