He was predeceased by: his parents, Tze-Lien Yao-Hsieh and Shao-Sun Hsieh; and his siblings, Lillian Chu, Alice Chu, Ida Tang, Shàn Zhí Hsieh, Shàn Méi, Daniel Hsieh and Kenneth Hsieh.
He is survived by: his wife Dr. E. Mei Shen-Hsieh (Emmy); his sisters, Shirley Hsieh and Mary Hsieh; his daughters, Angela Shen-Hsieh (Mark Schindler), Sylvia Hsieh and Laura Hsieh (Desmond Bailey); and his grandchildren, Milo Schindler, Jai Hsieh-Bailey, Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey and Yasmina Hsieh. He is also survived by 27 nieces and nephews, numerous relatives, and friends.
