He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna O'Brien (Kennedy) and George O'Brien; his wife Bertha O'Brien (Reed); his sons-in-law, Will Deshaies and Bruce Lefebvre; and his sisters, Helen Lacascia and Gail O'Brien.
He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline Deshaies of Salem, NH, Carlene West (Bob) of West Chester, PA, Judith Lefebvre of Barboursville, VA, John O'Brien, Jr. of Salem, NH, George O'Brien of Exeter, NH and Donna Richardson (Todd) of Andover, MA; his sisters, Mary Knopp and Sheila Morgan of Methuen, MA; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Lacascia of Fountain Valley, CA, Nick Ricci of Methuen, MA and Cora Rogers (Jim) of Ledyard, CT. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
