He was predeceased by: his nephew Mark Schmidt. He is survived by: his spouse Martha Ellis; his daughters, Kathleen Haines (Roger) and Karen Letendre; his spouse Sidney Chastain; his daughters, Daisy Letendre and Nora Letendre; his grandchildren, Frances Holderby, Henry Holderby and Joseph Haines; his sister Susan Schmidt; and his nephew Christopher Schmidt.

Donations in memory of Bill can be made to The Hospice of the Fisher Home, 1165 North Pleasant Street, Amherst, MA 01002.
