It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Downer of Amesbury, Massachusetts, born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 14, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry H. Downer and Edith Downer (Butterfield); his spouse Beverly Downer (Gates); and his son Richard Downer. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen L. Thornton of Ward Hill and Kim (Robert Grover) of Gloucester. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

“My deepest condolences, I am just finding out. Bud and Beverly used to babysit me quite a long time ago. We ended up moving and losing touch; I always think about them and wish I had tried to find him. Lol, I still remember his sign in the basement over at Macy terrace "when I die, bury me upsidedown so the whole world can kiss my a$$" I still hear his cane banging on whatever to get your attention.
