She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gerard Vandermyn and Violet Vandermyn; her siblings, Stephan Vandermyn (Betty), Craig Vandermyn (Nancy), Anne Vandermyn and David Vandermyn (Connie); her husband Thomas Schmidt; and her children, Jamie Lemmens (Chad), Michael Schmidt (Jennifer) and Kevin Mattson.
