She was predeceased by: her husband Stanley J. Szlachetka; and her brothers, Albert Chapdelaine and Carmino Albano. She is survived by: her children, Attorney Stanley A. Szlachetka (Carol), Cheryl Viens, Nancy Bellefeuille (Robert), Amy Szlachetka (Linda Adams) and Lisa Campbell (William); her grandchildren, Gillian, Eric, Elliot, Veronica, Michael, Lindsey, Ryan, Jonathan and Riley; and her sister Claire Milette of Wales.
Funeral arrangements have been postponed to a later date due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
She was awarded by the National Science Foundation grants to study at Smith College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and California State University.
