William A. Hyland III Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 5, 2018, at the age of 49, William A. Hyland III (Adams, Massachusetts), born in Charleston, South Carolina passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William A. Hyland III to pay them a last tribute.

While he enjoyed many activities, none of these speak for the man Billy was - the warm cup of coffee, the joint lit at the door, the caring advice, his warm hugs and reassuring "I love you," the honest introspection only he could provide, and his amazing ability to help a person see life and people from another perspective, rather than judge them." Billy is survived by his two sons, William A. Hyland, IV and Nicholas Ward Hyland, the two people he loved most in the world, his parents, William A. Hyland, Jr. (Barbara) of Cheshire, MA and Mary Daliet Gerhardt (Bob) of Silverhill, AL, his sister, Mary Lynn Richardson (Dave, and nephew Thomas) of Adams, 7 other siblings, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, and those special friends who helped him so much in the last few years, Marc Faucher, Dawn Karo, and Felicia Underwood. Billy suffered from years of continuous pain caused by a life changing back injury. He was a long term advocate for assisted suicide, and like everything else in life, he chose to end his on his own terms. We hope he found solace from his pain.
