He was predeceased by: his parent Walter Mendel; and his sister Lorraine Truskowski. He is survived by: his parent Mary Mendel (Brendza); his wife Julia C. Pontier; his children, Deborah Mendel of Adams, Dina Mendel of Cleveland, Jill Mendel of Adams and Robert Mendel of Wake Forest, NC; his grandchildren, Andrey, Nikolai and John; and his brothers, Walter Mendel of Wappingers Falls, NY and Anthony Mendel of Adams. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
