He was predeceased by: his parent Ignacy Koczela; and his siblings, Thaddeus, Stephen, Paul, Fred, Frank, Stanley Koczela and Stephanie.
He is survived by: his parent Mary Koczela (Boryczka); his wife Ruby Ann Strzepek; his children, Sue McFarland (Jeffrey) of Conway, Alan Koczela (Aminasahra) of Baltimore, MD, Brian Koczela (Ann), Windsor Koczela and Jason Koczela of Somerville; his brother Joseph Koczela (Beverly) of Adams; and his grandchildren, Liam, Paige, Jillian, Sadie (Richard), Seth, Cajabo and Dige. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, the Deerfield River Watershed Trout Unlimited, PO Box 133, Shelburne Falls MA 01370 or to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
