He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schatz and Maria Pfeiffer Schatz. He is survived by: his wife Mary Loubard Schatz; his sons, Joseph J. Schatz (Parsa Sanjana) of Washington, DC and John B. Schatz (Angela) of Shelburne Falls, MA.; and his grandchildren, Leila, Gabriella and Tucker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his remembrance memory to Friends of Acton Nursing (PO Box 541, Acton, MA 01720) or The Friends of the Acton Council on Aging (PO Box 2006, Acton, MA 01720).
