Stephen A. Garland-Figueroa Obituary
Stephen A. Garland-Figueroa, 38, of Abington, formerly of Brockton and Rockland, sadly succumbed to the disease of addiction on Wednesday morning March 22, 2023. He was a tradesman in construction and enjoyed painting, listening to music, and spending time with his family. An avid reader, he had such an incredible mind, was always eager to learn, and was highly intelligent and humorously quick witted. He had a compassionate heart and carried his heart on his sleeve. When he loved, he loved with all his heart going full bore.
Stevie struggled for many, many years with mental health issues that so commonly run hand in hand with the disease of addiction. He struggled with PTSD, bipolar disorder, and trauma. His family hopes that being honest about Stevie's death and struggle with this disease can help save a life.
Stephen was the beloved son of Nancy Garland-Trenholm and her husband Gary of Abington and Angelo Figueroa of Brockton; loving brother of Naomi Bates, Joseph Bates, Angelo Figueroa Jr., Sheena Figueroa, Sara Figueroa, Anthony Figueroa, and Alexis Figueroa; and an uncle, nephew, and cousin of many.
