He is survived by: his wife Martha Hicks Avery of Zwolle, LA; his children, Deana Avery Hurt of Grosbeck, TX, Amy Avery Holman (Kurt) of State College, PA, Paul Hicks, Mark Hicks (Cheryl) of Pleasant Hill, LA, Eric Avery (Linda) of Perry, GA and Cecil M. Avery, II (Brooke) of Many, LA; and his stepbrother Wiley Lindsey of Arkansas. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
