He is survived by: his wife Sharon Palmer Thompson; his daughter Shelley Thompson Milliken (Carey) of Ethel; his grandchildren, Breanna Vice Hopkins (Richard F. Hopkins, IV), Lynzlee Nicole Milliken and Carley Kathryn Milliken; and his great grandchild Richard Frederick Hopkins.
