Gerald Anthony Simmons Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Anthony Simmons of Zachary, Louisiana, born in Simmesport, Louisiana, who passed away on June 11, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Emerson and Dora; his wife Martha Ruth Meaux Simmons; his children, Cinthia S. Mancuso, Christopher S. Simmons and Carolyn S. Suber; and his siblings, Eugene "Gene" Simmons, Norma S. Cardwell of James and Loraine S. Jackson. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LSU Foundation for the Gerald A. Simmons Professorship of Dairy Sciences in the School of Animal Science.
