In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gaynell Collins had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Gaynell Collins may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Lucius Young, Jr.; her children, Samara Young Ferguson, Lucius Young (Monica) and Jonathan Colin Young (Janay); her godchildren, Andrea Moore and Lavar Collins; and her siblings, Beverly Collins and Anthony Ray Collins. She was also cherished by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as nieces and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (4200 Main St, Zachary, LA 70791). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at the Beech Grove Cemetery (778 LA-68, Jackson, LA 70748).
