Jeffrey Neal wrote a sympathy message

“We were soldiers once, and young. Here’s a picture taken in Soc Trang Vietnam not long after we arrived in 1968. 1st LT Infantry Gene Booth, 1st LT Infantry Jeff Neal in red strip shirt (age 21) and 1st LT Sam Bracken. Spending a year together 24/7 we learned a lot about each other. Gene was no doubt the most respected officer. I have been pleased over these many years to discover all the good things that Gene made of this life, and regret we were never able to connect in person. Jeff Neal”

Wayne Larry Dandridge wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Family, Gene Booth was my Viking Gunship Platoon Leader in Vietnam. One of his near-death exploits is described in detail in my Military History and Action BLADES OF THUNDER (Book One). Gene was a fine man, great officer, compassionate leader, excellent pilot, kind gentleman, steadfast soldier, and dear friend. God bless his soul and keep his family safe.
