He was predeceased by: his parents, Nolan Sutton and Nora Fuller Sutton; and his siblings, Naomi Miers, Esther Barr and Ivy Bill Sutton.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Franks Sutton; his sons, Lane Sutton (Yvette), Donnie Sutton (Delores), Ron Sutton (Dana) and Bart Sutton; his grandchildren, Melissa Counts, Ashley Cooper, Garrett Sutton, Nolan Sutton, Amanda Walker, Natalie Arant and Grace Sutton; his brother Melvin Sutton (Vivian); his sisters-in-law, Josette Sutton and Mary Frances Franks; and his pet Willie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a memorial donation to First Baptist Church Zachary or to a favorite charity.
